Professional Training and Qualifications
My training consisted of a 3 ½ year diploma course in Naturopathy and Acupuncture/Traditional Chinese Medicine at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM London) with an added eight day intensive course in the outpatient Acupuncture department of the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of TCM, Nanjing, China. On completion in Spring 2007 I was awarded diplomas in Naturopathy and in Acupuncture. Following my diploma I successfully completed two years of postgraduate training as clinical supervisor at the College of Naturopathic Medicine. In Spring 2011 I completed the short course in Tuina at Westminster University London under the tuition of Rosey Grandage and Sandra Hill.
In 2008 I became a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
Previously I gained a degree in Pharmacy, a PhD (Dr.sc.nat.) at the Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich, Switzerland) and the Certificate for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (CLTHE) at University College London.
Other occupations
I taught research skills at the College for Naturopathic Medicine from 2008-2010. I was also a practitioner member of the BAcC research committee 2009-2011. Apart from my acupuncture, tuina and naturopathy practice I also work as research officer for the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
My Background
Since my earliest childhood memory I have experienced natural health practices. This interest led me to study pharmacy at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (Switzerland) which involved a great deal of training in herbal medicine. My desire to do research and to work practically led me to study for a PhD and I then came to London to continue my work in biomedical research at Imperial College, King’s College and University College London. Having worked on many basic principles of human physiology and disease, I was keen to pick up on my earlier training, but to combine my gained knowledge with an approach using more natural therapies, which led me to study at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, London.
